MUCOFREE SYRUP 100mL (Bromhexine Hydrochloride 4 mg)
For all forms of tracheobronchitis, emphysema with bronchitis, pneumoconiosis, chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions, bronchiectasis, bronchitis with bronchospasm, asthma. During acute exacerbations of bronchitis MUCOFREE should be given with the appropriate antibiotic. MUCOFREE may also be administered to facilitate and expidite the expectoration of abnormal fluid present in the bronchi, e.g contrast media.
Dosage and Administration:
Adult and children over 10 years:
10 ml (two teaspoonful) - 3 times daily
Children 5-10 years:
5 ml (one teaspoonful) - 3 times daily
Children 2-5 years:
2.5 ml (half teaspoonful) - 3 times daily
Children under 2 years:
1.25 ml (1/4 teaspoonful) - 3 times daily
As the commencemnt of treatment it may be necessary to increase the total daily dose up to 48 mg in adults. The syrup is very suitable for diabetics and small children.
Side Effects:
Occasional gastro-intestinal side effect may occur but these are almost invariably mild, headache, skin rashes, dizziness and sweating.
