Diclofenac Potassium 50 mg
Analgesic - Antiinflammatory
*Indicated for the following acute conditions where a rapid oncet of effect is particularly important:
1.Painful post-traumatic inflammatory conditions.
2.Post-operative inflammation and pain such as dental or orhtopedic surgery.
3.Painful and / or inflammatory conditions in gynaecology such as primary dysmenorrhea or adnexities.
4.Non-articular rheumatism.
5.Painful sydromes of the vertebral column.
6.As an adjuvant in sever painful inflammatory infections of the throat, nose or ear, such as pharyngotonsillitis and however appropriate treatment of the infection should be followed.
Dosage and Administration
The usual recommended adult daily doses 100-150 mg daily in 2-3 divided dose. In mild case and for children over 14 years of the age the daily dose is 75-100 mg in 3-4 divided doses. In primary dysmenorrhea the initial dose should be 50-100 mg. If necessary, this dose can be increase over a number of menstrual cycles to a maximum of 200 mg daily. the tablet should be swallowed with liquid preferably after meals.
Side Effect
Generally diclofenac is well tolerated, the most common gastrointestinal side effect include dyspepsia, nausea, vomitting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps.Rarely peptic ulcer and gastrointestinal bleeding have occured.
In isolated cases: aphthous, stomatitis, glossitis, pancreatitis, constipation
CNS: headache, dizziness, vertigo
CVS: (Isolated cases) palpitation, chest pain, hypertension , congestive heart failure (rare): drowsiness, tiredness
Blood: (isolated cases) thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, agranulocytosis, h-Anemia, aplastic anemia. Other (isolated cases) impotence.
