DESCRIPTION:
Description :Each tablet of Glucophage XR contains metformin HCl 500 mg, 750 mg and 1 g, respectively
Indications / Uses : Type 2 DM: Monotherapy or in combination w/ other oral antidiabetics. Reduction of diabetes complications. Impaired glucose tolerance. Glucophage/Glucophage Forte Childn =10 yr & adolescents.
Administration : Should be taken with food: XR tab: Swallow whole, do not chew/crush.
Contraindications : Diabetic coma; ketoacidosis; renal impairment; chronic liver disease; cardiac failure & recent MI; alcoholism; hypoxemia; shock. Pregnancy.
Special Precautions : Lactic acidosis is rare & may occur in significant renal failure. Regular renal monitoring is needed. Suspend therapy during surgery & clinical investigations using IV iodinated contrast media.
