WHAT FASIGYN AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
Fasigyn is anti-infective agent, and is used to treat bacterial and protozoal infections. Protozoa are single-celled organisms that can cause infections. There are different types of protozoa infections, depending on the type of microorganism causing them.

Fasigyn used for prophylaxis before certain surgery to prevent development of bacterial infections.
Fasigyn s used to treat bacterial infections of the following:
• Anaerobic infections: intraperitoneal infections, gynecological infections, bacterial septicemia (infection in the blood), after parenteral administration (intravenous or intramuscular) therapy, post-operative wound infections, skin and soft tissue infections, infections localized in the upper and lower parts of the respiratory system;
• Non-specific vaginitis;
• Acute ulcerative gingivitis.
Fasigyn be used to treat protozoal infections following:
• Urogenital trichomoniasis in patients of both sexes (inflammation of the genitourinary system);
• giardiasis;
• Intestinal amoebiasis;
• Hepatic amoebiasis.
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE FASIGYN
Do not take Fasigyn
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tinidazole, other nitroimidazolovi derivatives or any of the other ingredients of Fasigyn
if you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant; if you are breastfeeding
if you have a blood disease or have had such a disease;
if you have a disease of the central nervous system, including epilepsy

Take special care with Fasigyn, if symptoms of central nervous system such as dizziness, vertigo, incoordination, peripheral nerve damage, seizures. In the event of such symptoms Fasigyn treatment should be discontinued.

Taking other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

If you already prescribed medicine of the item. Pomegranate. Anticoagulants (drugs to reduce blood clotting), you should inform your light before you start taking Fasigyn.
Taking Fasigyn with food and drink
Should not drink alcohol during treatment with Fasigyn and three days after its completion. The combination of Fasigyn Alcohol can cause flushing, abdominal (stomach) cramps, vomiting and heart palpitations.

Pregnancy and lactation

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.

Fasigyn crosses the placental barrier. Since there are no known effects of this group of drugs on the fetus, the application of Fasigyn not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy. Its use during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy requires consideration of potential benefits and possible risks to mother and fetus. breastfeeding
Fasigyn is excreted in human milk. Fasigyn can be detected in breast milk over 72 hours after administration. Women should not breast feed during and for at least three days after discontinuation of Fasigyn.

Driving and using machines

Fasigyn is safe and is unlikely to have an effect on the ability to drive and use machines.
3. HOW TO TAKE FASIGYN?
Always take Fasigyn exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
prophylaxis
a) Prevention of postoperative infections:
Adults. A single dose of 2 g approximately 12 h. Prior to surgery.
Children under 12 years of age.
There are no data that allow making recommendations for dosing in the prophylaxis of anaerobic infections in children under 12 years of age.
treatment:
b) Anaerobic infections
Adults: The first day is administered an initial dose of 2 g, then continued with a dose of lg once daily or 500 mg twice daily.
Generally 5-6 days of treatment is sufficient, but clinical judgment is required in determining the duration of treatment especially when the elimination of infection in certain locations may be difficult.
If therapy should be continued for more than 7 days, it is recommended that routine clinical and laboratory monitoring.
Children under 12 years of age. There are no data that allow making recommendations for dosing in the treatment of anaerobic infections in children under 12 years of age.
c) Non-specific vaginitis
Adults. Nonspecific vaginitis has been successfully treated with a single dose of 2 g. A better therapeutic effect is achieved with the use of 2 g once daily for two consecutive days (total dose of 4 g).
d) Acute ulcerative gingivitis Adults: A single dose of 2 g.
e) ATM
When confirmed infection with Trichomonas vaginalis is recommended treating patients and partner.
Adults.
• A single dose of 2 g.
Children: A single dose of 50 to 75 mg / kg body weight. In some cases, you may need this dose be administered again.
f) giardiasis
Adults: A single dose of 2 g.
Children: A single dose of 50 to 75 mg / kg body weight. In some cases, you may need this dose be administered again.
g) intestinal amebiasis
Adults: A single daily dose of 2 g for 2 to 3 days. Sometimes, when the three-day course with a single daily dose is insufficient, treatment can last up to six days.
Children. A single dose of 50 to 60 mg / kg body weight per day for 3 consecutive days.
h) Hepatic amoebiasis
In hepatic amoebiasis, unless treatment Fasigyn may have aspiration of pus.
Adults. The total dose ranging from 4.5-12 g. Treatment is started with 1.5 - 2 g orally administered once a day for 3 days. In rare cases, when the three-day course of treatment is inadequate, the treatment can last up to six days.

Children: A single dose of 50 to 60 mg / kg body weight daily for 5 consecutive days.
Use in renal failure:
Usually do not require dose adjustment in patients with impaired renal function. However, due to the fact that tinidazole is eliminated easily by dialysis, it may be necessary to compensate by administration of additional doses Fasigyn.
It is recommended that oral intake of Fasigyn be done during or after a meal. If you take more dose Fasigyn

If you forget to take Fasigyn

Do not take a double dose. to make up for a forgotten tablet. (
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECT
Like all medicines, Fasigyn can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Vascular disorders: Flushing
General disorders and administration site conditions: fever, fatigue
Nervous system disorders: difficulties in coordinating your movements, convulsions (rarely), dizziness, headache, decreased sensitivity, numbness and tingling (paraesthesia), disorder of the nerves which can cause weakness, tingling or numbness (peripheral neuropathy), visual and hearing disorders, taste
Ear and labyrinth disorders: vertigo
Gastrointestinal disorders: abdominal pain, diarrhea, discoloration and / or inflammation of the tongue, nausea, inflammation of the lining of the mouth, gums, tongue and mouth (stomatitis), vomiting
Metabolism and nutrition disorders: decreased appetite
Blood and lymphatic system: reducing the number of white blood cells (leukopenia)
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: allergic dermatitis, pruritus, urticaria and angioedema
Immune system disorders: drug hypersensitivity
Renal and urinary discoloration of urine (chromaturia)

5. HOW TO STORE FASIGYN?
Keep out of reach of children.
Fasigyn not use after the expiry date stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
