DAKTARIN ORAL GEL 40G
Daktarin 20 mg/g Oral Gel 40g is used in the treatment and prevention of bacterial infections in the mouth and throat. The gel can also be used to treat bacterial and fungal infections in the throat and mouth. The presence of miconazole destroys the fungus and bacteria.
Who can use?
Daktarin 20 mg/g Oral Gel 40g can be used by adults and children over 4 months old.
Patients on Warfarin
If you are on warfarin medication, you must not use Daktarin Oral Gel.
How to use?
Infants and children 4 months – 2 years old apply 1.25ml (1/4 of 5ml spoon) four times a day.
Adults and children over 2 years apply 2.5ml (1/2 of 5ml spoon) four times a day.
Daktarin Oral Gel should be taken after food.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding consult your doctor before purchasing or using this medicine.
Common side effects (up to 1 in 10 people)
Nausea/vomiting, dry mouth, oral discomfort or taste disturbance.
KEEP ALL MEDICINES OUT OF THE EACH OF CHILDREN.
READ THE PATIENT LEAFLET BEFORE TAKING THIS MEDICATION.
Infants and children 4 months – 2 years old apply 1.25ml (1/4 of 5ml spoon) four times a day.
Adults and children over 2 years apply 2.5ml (1/2 of 5ml spoon) four times a day.
Daktarin Oral Gel should be taken at least 30 minutes after food.
The gel should not be swallowed immediately, but kept in the mouth as long as possible.
Continue treatment for at least a week after the symptoms have disappeared
Each 5 ml of Daktarin Oral Gel contains 124 mg of miconazole.
Other Ingredients: pregelatinised potato starch, ethanol, polysorbate 20 (E432), sodium sccharin, cocoa flavour, orange flavour, gylcerol and water.
