CRESTOR is indicated as adjunctive therapy to diet to reduce elevated Total-C, LDL-C, ApoB, nonHDL-C, and triglycerides and to increase HDL-C in adult patients with primary hyperlipidemia or mixed dyslipidemia. Lipid-altering agents should be used in addition to a diet restricted in saturated fat and cholesterol when the response to diet and nonpharmacological interventions alone has been inadequate.
Dosage:
5 to 40 mg orally once daily. The usual starting dose is 10 to 20 mg once daily. 
The usual starting dose in adult patients with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia is 20 mg once daily.
CRESTOR can be administered as a single dose at any time of day, with or without food. The tablet should be swallowed whole.
Side effects:
Headache.
Myalgia.
Abdominal pain.
Asthenia.
Nausea.
Composition:
Rosuvastatin calcium equivalent to 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, or 40 mg of rosuvastatin. The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, calcium phosphate, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide

Rosuvastatin is used along with a probablyer diet to help lower “bad” cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It belongs to a group of drugs known as “statins.” It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver.

Crestor Tablet is used to reduce the level of bad cholesterol in the body. It is also used in the treatment of long-term complications such as heart disease or stroke. A proper diet and regular exercise should be maintained along with taking this medicine. (Please consult your physician before taking any medication)

What Rosuvastatin is used for:
Rosuvastatin is used to correct the levels of fatty substances in the blood called lipids, the most common of which is cholesterol. Rosuvastatin can reduce the ‘bad’ cholesterol and increase the ‘good’ cholesterol.
It works by helping to block your body’s production of ‘bad’ cholesterol. 
Do not take Rosuvastatin:
If you have ever had an allergic reaction to Rosuvastatin, or to any of its ingredients.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding. 
If you have liver disease.
If you have severe kidney problems.
If you have repeated or unexplained muscle aches or pains.
If you take a drug combination of sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir.
If you take a drug called ciclosporin (used, for example, after organ transplants).
In addition, do not take Rosuvastatin 40 mg (the highest dose):
If you have moderate kidney problems (if in doubt, please ask your doctor).
If your thyroid gland is not working properly.
If you have had any repeated or unexplained muscle aches or pains.
If you regularly drink large amounts of alcohol.
If you are of Asian origin (Japanese, Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Korean and Indian).
If you take other medicines called fibrates to lower your cholesterol.

DescriptionCrestor belongs to a group of medicines called statins. It is used to correct the levels of fatty substances in the blood called lipids, the most common of which is cholesterol. Crestor can reduce the bad and increase the good cholesterol. Crestor works by helping to block your body's production of bad cholesterol and improves your body's ability to remove it from your blood. You need to keep taking Crestor, even if it has got your cholesterol levels to the right level, because it prevents your cholesterol levels from creeping up again. However, you should stop if your doctor tells you to do so or you have become pregnant.
For some people, high cholesterol does not affect the way they feel because it does not product any symptoms. However, if it left untreated, fatty deposits can build up in the walls of your blood vessels causing them to narrow. Sometimes, these narrowed vessels can get blocked which can cut off the blood supply to the heart or brains leading to a heart attack.
