Uses
Used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.
Side Effects
Headache or cough may occur. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including: fast/pounding heartbeat, changes in menstrual cycles, bone fracture, vision changes (such as color changes or night vision problems).
When not to use
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the drug.
DETAILS
Avodart is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. It helps improve urinary flow and may also reduce your need for prostate surgery later on. (Please consult your physician before taking any medication)

Precaution
Before taking rosiglitazone, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or to other glitazones such as pioglitazone; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

It may take up to 2 to 3 months before you get the full benefit of this drug.
Precaution
Consult your physician immediately if your blood glucose level increases. Symptoms of high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) include thirst, increased urination, confusion, drowsiness, flushing, rapid breathing, and fruity breath odor.
Precaution
It may be harder to control your blood sugar when your body is stressed (such as due to fever, infection, injury, or surgery). Consult your doctor because this may require a change in your treatment plan, medications, or blood sugar testing.
Pregnancy
Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
Drugs to avoid
Beta-blocker medications (such as metoprolol, propranolol, glaucoma eye drops such as timolol), insulin.

For the treatment and control of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate to improve symptoms, reduce prostate size, reduce the risk of acute urinary retention, and reduce the need for BPH-related surgery. When used in combination with the alpha-blocker tamsulosin, it is indicated for the treatment of symptomatic BPH in men with an enlarged prostate.

Product Description
Dutasteride capsule 0.5 mg 
What Dutasteride is and what it is used for:
Dutasteride is used to treat men with an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) - a non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland, caused by producing too much of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone. It belongs to a group of medicines called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors.
As the prostate grows, it can lead to urinary problems, such as difficulty in passing urine and a need to go to the toilet frequently.. Dutasteride lowers the production of dihydrotestosterone, which helps to shrink the prostate and relieve the symptoms. This will reduce the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for surgery.
Dutasteride may also be used with another medicine called tamsulosin (used to treat the symptoms of an enlarged prostate).

What you need to know before you use Dutasteride:
Do not use Dutasteride:
• if you are allergic to dutasteride, other 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, soya, peanut or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
• if you have severe liver disease 
• if you are allergic to peanut or soya
This medicine is for men only. It must not be taken by women, children or adolescents.
Warnings and precautions:
    Talk to your doctor before taking Dutasteride.
• Make sure your doctor knows about liver problems. 
• Women, children and adolescents must not handle leaking Dutasteride capsules, because the active ingredientcan be absorbed through the skin. 
• Use a condom during sexual intercourse. 
• Dutasteride affects a blood test for PSA (prostate-specific antigen), which is sometimes used to detect prostate cancer. 
• Dutasteride may cause breast enlargement and tenderness. 
Other medicines and Dutasteride:
Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
Some medicines can react with Dutasteride and may make it more likely that you’ll have side-effects. These medicines include:
• verapamil or diltiazem (for high blood pressure)
• ritonavir or indinavir (for HIV)
• itraconazole or ketoconazole (for fungal infections)
• nefazodone (an antidepressant)
• alpha-blockers (for enlarged prostate or high blood pressure).
How to use Dutasteride:
Always take Dutasteride exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you to. 
If you do not take it regularly the monitoring of your PSA levels may be affected. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

ما هو دوتاستيريد وما هي دواعي استعماله:
يستخدم دوتاستيريد في علاج الرجال المصابين بتضخم البروستاتا (تضخم البروستاتا الحميد) - نمو غير سرطاني في غدة البروستاتا ، ناتج عن إفراز الكثير من هرمون يسمى ديهدروتستوستيرون. ينتمي إلى مجموعة من الأدوية تسمى مثبطات اختزال 5-ألفا.
مع نمو البروستاتا ، يمكن أن يؤدي إلى مشاكل في المسالك البولية ، مثل صعوبة التبول والحاجة إلى الذهاب إلى المرحاض بشكل متكرر. يخفض دوتاستيريد  من إنتاج ثنائي هيدروتستوستيرون مما يساعد على انكماش البروستاتا وتخفيف الأعراض. سيؤدي ذلك إلى تقليل مخاطر احتباس البول الحاد والحاجة إلى الجراحة.
يمكن أيضًا استخدام دوتاستيريد  مع دواء آخر يسمى تامسولوسين (يستخدم لعلاج أعراض تضخم البروستاتا).
ما الذي يجب أن تعرفه قبل استخدام دوتاستيريد 
لا تستخدم دوتاستيريد:
• إذا كنت تعاني من حساسية تجاه دوتاستيريد ، أو مثبطات اختزال 5-ألفا الأخرى ، أو فول الصويا ، أو الفول السوداني ، أو أي من المكونات الأخرى لهذا الدواء
• إذا كان لديك مرض كبدي حاد
• إذا كان لديك حساسية من الفول السوداني أو فول الصويا
هذا الدواء للرجال فقط. يجب ألا يتم تناوله من قبل النساء أو الأطفال أو المراهقين.
المحاذير والإحتياطات:
 تحدث إلى طبيبك قبل تناول دوتاستيريد .
• تأكد من أن طبيبك على علم بمشاكل الكبد. 
• يجب على النساء والأطفال والمراهقين عدم التعامل مع كبسولات دوتاستيريدي المتسربة 
• استخدم الواقي الذكري أثناء الجماع. 
• يؤثر دوتاستيريد في فحص الدم من أجل PSA (مستضد البروستاتا النوعي) ، والذي يستخدم أحيانًا للكشف عن سرطان البروستاتا. 
• دوتاستيريد  قد يسبب تضخم الثدي والألم. 
أدوية أخرى ودوتاستيريد:
أخبر طبيبك إذا كنت تتناول ، أو تناولت مؤخرًا ، أو قد تتناول أي أدوية أخرى.
يمكن أن تتفاعل بعض الأدوية مع دوتاستيريد  وقد تزيد من احتمالية حدوث آثار جانبية لديك. تشمل هذه الأدوية:
• فيراباميل أو ديلتيازيم (لارتفاع ضغط الدم)
• ريتونافير أو إندينافير (لفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية)
• إيتراكونازول أو كيتوكونازول (للالتهابات الفطرية)
• نيفازودون (مضاد للاكتئاب)
• حاصرات ألفا (لتضخم البروستاتا أو ارتفاع ضغط الدم).
كيفية استخدام دوتاستيريد:
يجب دائمًا تناول دوتاستيريد  تمامًا كما أخبرك طبيبك أو الصيدلي.
إذا كنت لا تتناوله بانتظام ، فقد تتأثر مراقبة مستويات المستضد البروستاتي النوعي لديك. استشر طبيبك أو الصيدلي إذا لم تكن متأكدًا.
